Hello friends.

I finally had time to fish this morning. I am still working to get better as a nymph fly fisherman. Instead of hitting the local Tulpehocken and/or the French Creek, my wife and I went to a small Class A stream. We had a blast. I was using 2-3 weighted nymphs with and without strike indicator. Most takes were on my favorite wine colored brassie. I missed several fish, hooked up with many, and managed to land 10 fish in about 3 hours. (Which in my little world is a best record.) Even some in the 10-13 inch range. Here is the question...

I can never do this in a hatchery trout dominated stream like the Tully or French. Are wild trout under moderate pressure just that much easier? Do hatchery trout have a faster learning curve? Is presentation less important to wild browns than the hatchery trout? Is my success more tied to less pressured fish or the fact that they are wild? I feel like I am doing something right in some streams but does not transfer into other streams and rivers.

Any comments and/or advise is appreciated and read.

Thanks... Steven
