West Branch .... Last Day of the Season!

I promised Kristen that I would take her fly fishing. I did not think it would be to the West Branch though. She was treated to an awesome afternoon of fishing. The fishing was outstanding. The water was off color and extremely low. We were not scared. Many trout were caught in each spot. Kristen hooked 7 trout her FIRST time fly fishing. Most experts only hope to hook that many... it might be the teacher . In addition to the trout she landed she lost a big rainbow. Streamer fishing was also good with many trout caught on a white/gray streamer. All of the other trout came on ISO nymphs and BWO nymphs. We didn't get any huge ones today. I think that they are off thinking about better things, like getting it on (spawning). It was a great day to end the season there. Together in one afternoon we brought over thirty trout to hand.

I somehow knew the Predator was going to get his sweet, sweet revenge! Now that the season is ending, you really got the last word on those wild trout. They'll be thinking about this day all winter!

thanks to aaron for an awesome day of fishing. i was excited to fish but, i must admit, intimidated by the west branch. after warming up in the morning and getting the basics down, i had a killer afternoon hooking some little rainbows, losing a 17-inch rainbow (which i will never live down) and finally landing two fish i can be proud of. dave and rego, i can't wait to fish with you fellas... and kick your behinds . no b.s.
