    My favorite dry fly

    http://www.midcurrent.com/video/clip...ine_adams.aspx

In this video, Tim Flagler of Tightline Productions demonstrates how to tie one of the best-known — and most fished — fly patterns in existence: the Adams. As Thomas McGuane once described it, the Adams is "gray and funky and a great salesman." And fly fishing historian Paul Schullery says "the great lesson that the Adams offers to any tier who wishes to create an immortal fly pattern is its generalism; not only has it proven to be all things to all anglers, but it seems to be all things to almost all trout, as well."

Tightline Productions specializes in unique views of fly fishing, whether it's underwater video of free-swimming trout or ultra close up POV shots of fly tying.

Thanks Adam, I love using this fly in my dry dropper rig!

Its a great fly no doubt.

One of my personal killers is called a Baby sun fly, not so much to be used as a fly for a dropper rig but one great fish catcher, next to that a hares ear dry.

I would have to give the nod to the Usual..but lately its cousin the Cannon Snowshoe Sparkle dun.

    http://www.bluequillangler.com/Produ...-Emerger-per-3

It is an effective, very high floating durable small fly...the Cannon version is great for size 16-22.
I have to say also the Henryville Special is kind of a secret go to fly for me when the caddis are fussy...something about THAT fly elicits strikes. Even when the natural isnt all that close in size or color.

Interesting that the Baby Sun Fly does not have a wing. The hackle suffices to suggest a wing. I will tie a few of those BSFs and see how they work. My most productive dry fly is a spinner pattern. However, they are difficult to see. Stimulators work well.
