What line for 10ft 3wt euro nymph set up

Anybody have a favorite line that they really like for euro style nymphing. The line will be going on greys g-tec reel match with a greys 10ft 3wt rod.
I'm currently using 3wt rio trout LT.

The RIO Trout LT WF is a great line for those rods. That's what I have on my reels. You'll like it a lot

shoot, does it matter much? I have a battenkill reel with some 5 wt on it that i was planning to couple with my new 3 wt. streamflex. i'd rather buy more tungsten and tying materials than a new 3 wt line that i never expect to go more than 4' out of the rod tip.

let me know if i'm wrong here, but regarding fly line and euronymphing-don't lose too much sleep over it.

The only potential drawback would be that the 5 weight line would be heavy and cause the rod to flex due to the higher grain weight of the fly line. Try it and if you feel that the rod is slow try a light lighter line weight. If you feel that it is not compromising the action of the rod then stick with it. The rod was designed to handle a certain amount of weight and if that weight is exceeded then the rod will not dampen as quickly as it should. This might not hurt the casting at short ranges, but it will most certainly interfere with your ability to set the hook solidly.

That rod will easily handle a 4 wt which is what l use.

thanks for that help. i'll try it with a four weight set up that i have handy, but will pay close attention to whether or not i think the hook set is compromised.

I have been using on my 10' 3wt Grays the Rio nymph 4wt with the indicator tip for over a year. I really don't have more than 8' of fly line out beyond the rod tip. When it wears out I'll try a Rio ST 3wt line. A double taper would be a good choice for the 3wt. Cut it in half and get twice as much use out of it.
