I've found a couple possible blanks, but I have a couple questions. First a little background not sure if this is important. I prefer moderate more full flex action rods. Matter of fact I own a two piece Sage 486 LL (Light Line) and as some of you may know LL's are considered by he enough people to the best trout rods ever built by Sage due their action. However I also own a TFO Finesse 4wt 8'9" and as crazy as it may sound I like the TFO Finesse the best of the two, because it has an even more moderate action then the sage.
So at least in "regular" trout rods I prefer moderate action rods regardless whether High Stick Nymphing, Indicator or dry fly fishing. However having not Cz'ed I do not know whether there is an advantage to using a faster action rod. In a lot of what I have read it sounds I get the impression the preferred action is fast with a soft tip. Since the longer a becomes I can see where a moderate action rod in like a 10' Cz rod I could see it becoming to flexible. What should I look for in a Cz rod blank action wise. I ask, because the few blanks I have found within the price range I'm considering I expect to have moderate actions.
Also I typically prefer 4 wt rods even though several of the places I fish it is not uncommon to catch 18+" browns and rainbows. However I've been thinking of a 3wt with regard to a Cz rod due to the added leverage, however I'm beginning to wonder if a 4wt or possibly even 5wt would be a better choice. What do you all think?
