Fluke on a fly rod

Do you guys and gals catch fluke on a fly rod or is a hard thing to do

Fluke on a fly rod are not really hard to do. I have had success using standard saltwatedr flies like Clouser minnows and Decievers. Chartreuse ove white was always the best. Fluke can't resist any shade of the color green. Look for places where there is current close to shore and you should find Fluke. Also, look for bait jumping in the surf. I have done really well at North Beach at Sandy Hook. Outgoing tide was always the best for all fish, not just the fluke. Also, what kind of line are you using? I always liked to use intermediate line when fishing the surf.

It can be done and quite well I might add. I saw a guy land one that was at least ten pounds at North Beach. It happened right in the middle of a striper blitz. However, that was one fish that never made it back into the water. I am sure it was a good meal.

Fishing the CT shore, we have accidentally caught lots of fluke on chartreuse Clousers (in fact, fishing is good for them right now, my Dad's been catching a lot with kellies and squid). I'm not sure you can target them specifically, but a very slow deep retrieve seems to produce.
