Floating the East Branch f the "D"

Thinking of floating the east branch on the weekend of the 23rd. I have never floated it before and only fished it once before. Can one of you Catskill Guys give me the skinny? I need to know just about everything you could tell me. Put and take points for the toon, camping sites, any night fishing tips, any dangerous spots in the river, and fly selection, more specificaly streamer selection. I basicly know nothing about that river and any help would be......well, helpful.

    Thanks

i would keep an eye on the water temps. if we get warm weather the temps on the lower east branch will go above 70 and the trout will be stressed. there are tons of smallmouth bass in there from what i have heard though. so if the h20 temps are high there will be some bass that are there to play. i am sure that you will still find a few shad up there as well. of you want to catch trout then the west branch and upper main stem will be your best bet. if they are releasing water the fishing will be good. however, there will be crowds.

as for put in and take outs on the east branch.. i know that you can put in at the ball field right below the juction. you can either put in or take out at fish's eddy as well as take out at the firemen's field in hancock.

The east branch has been toast for a few weeks now Bkill to main stem..The past week the temps there have been almost 75!!!!!
The upper main is also to warm to fish for trout...

The upper east is good to fish but way to low to float....

They need rain badly. The other day it poured here at work but at home 30 minutes north we got nothing.
