    Beaverkill & Roscoe NY

I'm heading to Roscoe to fish the famed Beaverkill with some friends the second weekend in June. I have never fished the rivers there and was wonder what can we expect? We hear that if the hatch is on it is a dry fly mecca. I know guys don't like to give up their honey holes but being that we have never fished it any helping locating the fishing pools and their locations that are good producers would be greatly appreciated.
if we all take 1 piece of trash from the area we fish , it will make a difference!

The best thing to do is stop in Catskill flies in Roscoe. They have nice laminated pocket size maps of the rivers with all the pools listed on them. Talk to Dennis he will steer you in the right direction. Don't overlook the Willowemoc river while you are up there.

I agree with Frank. The maps are very useful, they'll poing out the more 'famous' spots on the river, but you'll also be able to find some nice water that you wouldn't see by just driving down the main stretch. There's good fishing all throughout the river, and again, don't overlook the Willow.

Oh don't worry we are planning on hitting the Willow & Delaware if water conditions are right.

Go to the Catskill Fly Fishing Museum while you are there. There is so much history there. It'sust see.

About the Beaverkill, park at an access, gear up and get in there! The whole river is good. Of course there are more fish in the c and r sections, but the river as a whole has plenty of fish. Also, don't be surprised if you hook some nice wild rainbows as well.

Far as fishing spots go on the bk, drive up rt 17 get out of your car and fish... A Map will not help you catch fish trust me...

I know a map won't help catch fish but I was looking for help locating those access parking areas. I have seen the river from RT 17 driving thru but was just trying to narrow it down.

Aaron I plan on the museum and I saw you Sat. eve on the Framington getting into your car by the Hitchcock Chair.

Once you get into Roscoe or Livingston Manor, just stay on the road that parallels the river. You can't miss the angler parking areas. On average they are probably located every 1/4 -1/2 mile.
