Kristen Kills It...

I took Kristen up to the "most popular spot in the Catskills" a few days ago. To say that she did well would be an understatement. She can sure indicator nymph! She was casting and mending line like a professional. She took two fish that were over 20 inches for the day! She is going to give some guys a run for their money. The water is coming down nicely and if you pick your spots right, there are plenty of fish to be had right now. She fought the fish like it was routine. She also landed a few smaller ones as well. All of the fish were taken on 265 nymphs in sizes 12-16. I tie them a bit darker to imitate the early season insects. We also saw a few baetis and blue quills as well. The usual assortment of early stones and caddis were about as well.

I got your call tonight. I was out at dinner. If I stop talking to her to talk about fishing, she is going to do something bad

She is pretty good. She has fished for bonefish in the Bahamas, so she can cast, which never hurts! It makes teaching her a lot easier. She can fish with the weighted flies as well. We will be seeing her holding some nice fish in the coming months.

yeah man,,well good for her. Maybe we can get her to encourage my wife a little,,lol. So we are heading up there saterday morning early, like im meeting Brian at like 4am im going to tie some walts worms thats for sure. im looking for a good hendrickson dry pattern,,any ideas?

Jay,

Tie up some of the 265 nymphs with dark brown life cycle dubbing. That makes a very good hendrickson nymph.

Kristen is getting to be "very dangerous."
