    Stoneclinger nymph

Not a very good nights sleep last night so I thought I'd post another. This is one of my favorite stoneclinger nymphs, particularly Epeorus.

    Tell you a story here.
My friend Olliver Edwards was as you may well know the one who got into tying more realistic type fishing flies !! in the late 80s.

When l lived in the UK, he and l were often booked to do fly tying demos and programs at different events around EU.
Well, Olly would never give any of the flies away of sell them, he would put them in his fly box for people to look at on his table.
Guess what, and l cannot remember which event it was, some one stole the box off the table, he was mad as hell about that.

Nice tie of yours, you ever fish those guys as a matter of interest.

Fish 'em all Davy. All of my patterns are meant to fish with. This particular one is actually very simple to tie.

BentRodMedia just signed up. It looks like DHise is recommending us to his friends. Thanks buddy. We really appreciate it.

All the flies look absolutely killer.

    DHise,

yes it a good forum without the issues that many others have now resorted too.
Yes, l can see your SC differs from the OE style.

The reason l asked if you fished them or not is so many tyers l know tie flies of this nature simply for show and not fishing.

    Re: Stoneclinger nymph

Davy, you might be interested to know that I fish most of the flies I tie as well! I do however concur with your assessment that when an individual ties the quality flies that you, DHise and myself do, there is a tendency to want to put them in a box for show purposes and not fish them at all. That is why I mostly tie poor quality flies so as not to be faced with this dillema.
