Pennsylvania Limestone Streams

Fished a good many limestoone streams the past few days. On Saturday Bob and I went on a mission to fool some wary browns under some tough conditions. We hit the water early and stayed late. It was a very successful outing as Bob caught his first few PA wild browns. Here are some pics from the outing.

Day 2

Wow. That's some serious change. What was the issue?

New clutch and ball joints. I could have done it with a friend for less but it would have taken a long time. I need that car to take me fishing!

I was in State College last week to take George Daniel’s nymph fishing class on Sunday and stayed two more days to fish Spring and Fishing Creeks. The water was low, but still quite fishable and the weather was perfect.

Monday morning on Fishing I caught the biggest trout of the trip, a really fat 16 inch brownie and a smaller one from the same pool on green weenies. The water was a tepid 58 degrees! Also managed to catch my first sucker on a nymph!

Sorry, I didn't take a camera, so I don't have any pics, but I just wanted to affirm that central PA still has some good fishing too at this late date.

The fishing is good but you have to use the right techniques. George certainly knows that area just a little! Glad to hear about your successes. What size weenies?
