anyone ever fished valley creek off of route 29 in the valley creek park i guess it is....? also i think french creek is in the same general area...is that any good? i don't know anyone who ever fished it.

Valley Creek is good for smaller fish. They are spooky, but fun to catch. I have never been to French Creek, so I am of no help there!

I drove over french creek today...looked like a khalua and cream...

Its a stream that has a few special reg areas that are quite overfished. There is a parking area just east of birchrunville. If you don't do any good there, try heading south to 113 and find Pickering creek near the golf course.

Take a light rod to valley creek. The fish are very spooky, fish small pockets of water. The less time spent in the water, the better your chances of catching some fish. its fun, but can be frustrating. The trout you see and want to catch are often less than interested.

What did you fish? Terrestrials?

The tough fishing in the summer will make an angler much more peoficient at catching fish when the conditons are better. I have been fishing the spring creeks every day for weeks d the tough fishing has taught me a lot! Just when you think you have it wired, it changes and yu ha e change with it. I am sure that you can attest to that by fishing Valley Creek today. Good job on your success.

I've fished scud+green caddis nymph there twice this summer. Once I used an ant on top with a caddis nymph on bottom. Lots of scuds in the stream, but never seem to get em' on the scud. However, the fish seem to like a nice Czech type green caddis. I never got the black ants on top, always wet. Never focused on the whole prospecting with terrestrials on the stream, just covering lots of ground and fishing a lot of water. I would like to be on the stream sometime when its going off with bugs, but never had the opportunity. Beautiful stream to fish none the less. Last time i was there spooked a fox taking a sip and several fawn. When I was in 6th or 7th grade i had a fawn come up to me and I scratched it behind the ear. Scared of my dad, but less than intimidated by my small stature at the time.
