Favorite Flies Made From Pheasant Tail

What is your favorite fly made from a pheasant tail excluding the basic and killer pheasant tail itself.

For instance someone might say the firefly (I realize this is simply a modified pheasant tail).

Mine would have to be the red devil Loren Williams has a tutorial of on his sight. He uses a biot for the body, but I use pheasant tail in mine. It is a killer in size 16 in PA, and I'm sure it is anywhere you present it well.

    What do you guys have?

I have been experimenting with pheasant tail - soft-hackles.

Do you have a picture of your red devil with pheasant tail?

    No, I don't have a picture.

Here is the link to Loren's Red Devil

Just picture the same fly with the tail and abdomen being pheasant tail, and you have my version. Nothing fancy, I just didn't have any biots laying around.

    Fly works great though.

this fly is called the czech weapon and has a PT body. The tail is red floss, the rib is copper wire, the body is PT and peacock ice dud, the hackle is brown hen and the thread is brown then changed to red for the hot spot. I tie these in pink and orange just keeping the tail floss the same color as the hot spot. This one is tied on a long shank size 12 hook with a 3.2mm tungsten bead and a lead underbody, a bit of a bomb but you can also use a brass bead for less weight. It would probally catch wild fish in an off color situation but stockers slam it whenever especially rainbows.

Did I see that fly recently in one of your posts? Proof that it works. I like it.

Sorry, I meant that I did see that fly a few times in one of your recent posts. Not that I needed proof that it works. Nice Fly!

I love the PT. One of the best flys ever. It's always one of my flies when nymphing.

I go with the tung head and add a bit of flash instead of the wing case. Yum Yum say the fish... well... they don't speak but vote by trying to eat it all the time.
