Hardy Leaders

Hey guys, I picked up a couple of hardy 9ft 5X leaders this weekend for fishing dries. The way I set it up is knail knot the leader to the fly line, cut off 1ft of the leader, tie a perfection loop and tie my tippet off of that. But anyway the leader is great! It casts very well, presents the flies delicatly, has low memory and after treating the leader with watershed it floats nicely. I've tried this with many tapered leaders and used to do it with Maxima chameleon tapered leaders but this one blows them all out of the water, if you fish dries regularly try this set up.

Agreed. I used to use Rio. You hit a rock, get a tangle, sometimes even pulling it out of the bag you would destroy the leader. One kink and it is shot.

The hard comes out of the bag and has no memory. It's a huge upgrade.

Okay folks...this whole Hardy leader thing has me puzzled a bit.

Do they have a proprietary polymer that no one else uses? Is it a unique taper that no one has used before?

I mean there can't be more than a few places that make leader and tippet material for the different companies.

What is it that makes the new Hardy product so unique?

I am not saying what you have experienced is not true...just really curious as to why it is so much better.
