    Salmon River BIG SKUNK

    Guys,

It's Justin, I'm here at our buddy Kevin's place using his login and I wanted to give you a quick report.

Aaron and I have been fishing the past two days in the Salmon.

    WHAT A ZOO!

It's like Salmon season out there! It's shoulder to shoulder in some places and the manners aren't much better. We have had everything from "Go F%ck Yourself" to jerks in the Fly Zone with running line and floats on their center pin rods. It's full out war.

The good news is, the fishing has been good. Aaron has landed around two dozen fish and hooked many more. The fish in Douglaston were RED HOT and impossible to keep on, Aaron was even having a tough day there yesterday. He managed to land quite a few as the day wore on but it was tough in the beginning.

I have a much more sad story... I have hooked at least 15 fish in the last two days and I have lost every single stinking one. I am using a spey rod for the first time and I am having a very hard time managing all the line. The steel has been tying my hands together, lassoing my reel and torturing me all together. The upper river is staked with both fish and people but Aaron and I have managed to stay sane.

Aaron promises pictures when he gets home... in the meantime, check out a quickie video I made for Kevin and his clients last night forgive the mixing levels, I had to use very basic software:

Those are some rugged looking browns mixed in with the chrome! Aaron, Why wish for zero degrees? To cool you guys off ? Tremendous fish and good job with the pictures.

All the pictures are great, but that third one down looks like my dream brown of a lifetime.

Sorry to hear about the crowds, but I guess the weather has been unusually warm. Are there more browns than usual this year? All of the fish look tremendous. Thanks for posting.

    Slo,

That was my best fight of the weekend. I waded out into the current, which was nearly knocking me over and casted to the other side. I mended the line once, the indicator dropped and I was attached!

    Here is a cool picture!
