    "Micronymphs"

This is a great article from Loren's website, flyguysoutfitting.com. His concept of micronymphs is different, not what I thought it was going to be from the title- it goes way beyond "small nymphs". I'm hoping we can get Loren to give us some dressings for his favorite versions of this- one of them is on his site already, the "Red Devil", check under the Fly Tying Tutorials.

    Loren-

What can you tell me about the unnamed Micronymphs in your article? The ones with wood duck tails, thread bodies, wire ribs, beadheads & fur collars, some with hot spots, some without. Looks deadly to me.

They'd be micros! I'm still playing heavily with the concept--learning much as I go along. For me, these types of flies get more important as the season progresses-especially in C&R wild trout waters.

I'm not too sure what else to say. I brace of #20 micros that a fish has never seen before can just be stupid deadly.

You know..only a small fraction of the mess that spins around in my mind actually escapes into public. There is so much uncharted territory in the sport of fly-fishing. For me the extreme fun comes with experimentation and what one learn;s through it.

Off to the water......lost too many small rainbows on a local small stillwater yesterday. Need to see if I can correct that! Time to put some more ideas into practice........
