Nice fish. I went down to the LLH on Wednesday and stunk it up. I fished it hard for a few hours and only managed to hook one fish and couldn't even land it. They cleaned the screens at the hatchery that morning and every fish in the river started rising. It was insane. They rose like mad for about 15 minutes but wouldn't touch a fly. If I had a pellet fly I would have hammered themOh well.
You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.
I need to go out there and fish one day
despite the cold this morning i landed 5 bows, 1 brown, and one fat sucker. good day, was the only one there. i loved it!
"Fabio" looks pretty big. There are some impressive trout in the LLH. Only fished it a couple times, but I got a 20"+ 'Bow my first trip, and a bunch of small to medium sized wild browns. Interesting fishery. Aaron tells me the number of wild browns is way down in the last year or two, have you found that to be the case?

unfortunately yes.
my guess is that someone's been poaching at night.
Just talked to Aaron, he fished there today and got a 23" brown with a small trout sticking out of it's mouth- and it still took his fly. He mentionned that the stream seems to be filling in with sand, and many areas that used to hold good numbers of fish don't. Is the local TU involved in doing something about this? They would certainly be the ones who should get involved.

Here's a thread from another forum that might be of interest to lehigh valley fishers. Seems a hatchery was/is contemplated for the saucon.

Also, here's the last fish commission report on the LL:

I gathered from that thread that it's probably not going to happen. That's a good thing - the Saucon's a superb wild trout fishery and opening a hatchery would cause lots of problems. There was one some years back and the now dilapidated raceways are still there. The outflow used to go under some sort of walkway or driveway just before it went into the creek; this fall the city (I guess) installed a couple smaller pipes instead. It's hard for me to explain to someone who hasn't seen the area... Anyway, fish can't get in or out anymore - these two were trapped there in late November:
