After hearing some good reports of excellent brown trout fishing I had to go check it out. Tony came along and it was unreal. All the brown trout that you wanted with some steelhead and rainbows thrown in for good measure. It was a day that I am glad that I had a witness. I quit fishing at times and moved to another spot just to cast into a place that looked different! We caught so many brown trout that its almost unbelievable. In the day and a half we caught somewhere between 150 and 175. There had to be a hundred fish in every pool. Largest fish was about 14 pounds. We didn't see anything huge but we found enough action!
These are only a FEW of the pictures that we took. We took over 60 pictures that day.

That's spectacular, but then again, we've come to expect nothing less! All nice fish and excellent pictures. It must be fun to catch them in the smaller streams. I also love the colorful rainbows. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
yeah Alain, the rainbows and steelhead are my favorite. I always get more excited when I get steel. I tried to get Justin in on this one but he was busy with family stuff.... next time. I could not believe the amount of fish in there. Every trib coming off the Lake has LOTS of trout in in right now. If any of you guys are thinking about going... get up there! Tony even got a fresh Coho salmon. We are going to have good fishing for the brown trout well into December this year! Anything that looks remotely like an egg will but bit. What was strange is the pools are so small but you would hook so many fish in each one. The fish had to have been covering the bottom and stacked up on top of each other.
WOW! Holy #@$%! Now that's the right way to spend Thanksgiving! Alain is absolutely right, we expect those kinds of results. What a trip, steel, big browns, rainbows. Amazing that in some pictures, the width of the creek looked no longer than 12-15', at best.
This is great to hear that you think the brown run will go well into December. I literally cannot wait to get up there. Aaron, when do you expect the browns to disappear and the creeks to be mostly composed of steelhead?
I guess I'll keep tying those egg patterns! Awesome report, I was anxious to hear the full story![]()
2009 Fish Whistler Champion, "Beads or Bust!"
Wow is right, now I feel sick that I can't go northwest to NY this month. I would much rather be doing than reading.
Looks like you and Tony hit it just right- definitely one of the biggest keys to success in fishing the Great Lakes tribs. Congrats guys, I think you two had more fun than the rest of us that were eating turkey....
