Thread: Simms waders

    Simms waders

Can any of you tell me how Simms waders run length-wise?

I have a 29 inch inseam, and was thinking about ordering a pair of medium short G3 waders.
Do they run true to length, or should I buy the regular mediums?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Whoa, I thought I read something different.

Check their size chart and follow it; they know how to make waders fit good.
If the line ain't tight, ya ain't doin it right

I am in the same boat Steve. I have a 30 inch inseams. Depending on how much you weight, I would go with a large short or and extra large short. I get the extra large short so that there is less pull on the seams. The chart says I shlould be a large short but I had too many seams blow out from walking and constantly applying pressure to the seams while crouching down to land fish. Definately upsize the waders to get the most comfortable and long lasting pair. You might want the same size that I have. Also, I can easily fit my winter clothing under my waders without them becoming tight.

Still best to try them on first if you can find a shop that carries a variety of sizes.. Like Aaron said you want enough room for heavy clothing because you will want to wear them all the time instead of neoprenes when it's cold.

Mine are a large regular and are great. I just adjust the suspenders as to the amount of clothing. I've had them about five years or so. I'm also a 30 inseam.

Lot's of shops have the G3 (and some the Guide) waders on sale now. I checked with HRO (always want to give my business to the local shops) but they did not have my size. I then found the G3's at Bob Marriot's (http://bobmarriotts.net/) for $250!

That's cheaper than most shops have the Guide model on sale for now!

Steve... I would think that you would want the waders in XL short also.

For $250, it would pay to buy a new pair for a spare!

    That's a great price.

Yeah ... if they have your size get a pair! You almost can't beat that price. You won't see them cheaper than that on E bay!
