scott g2 904/4 for sale or trade

Scott 904/4. Bought new last fall. Used less than 10 times. Very light soiling on the grip, but otherwise like new condition. Always wiped down and stored in tube after use. Blank warranty card. Comes with a Galvan s3 with a spare spool and new gpx willow line. Will sell outfit for $650. Would consider trade for a 9FT 6WT but must be a g2,s4,biix,or z axis in very good condition. My email is nathanorr74@gmail.com. Will send pics.

Just out of curiosity, why are you unloading this rod? I have the same one and it is probably my favorite stick. For what it does I think it's the perfect rod IMO.

It is a great rod, but most of my time is spent chucking streamers and indicator rigs on the Kennebec. So I need a 9ft 6wt. I already had a 4wt xp for dries and emergers and kind of bought the Scott without thinking. Anyhow, the g2 is twice the rod my old xp is but will also fetch twice the $$$. I would love to keep but the wife would kill me if I spent another $700 on a rod. I have done the TFO and St. Croix thing and have come to realize the terms "customer service" and "made in the USA" are worth the extra dough. Nobody does it like Scott, Sage, or Winston. Just my opinion.

If I didn't already own that same rod, I would offer of my Scott X2S Six weight which probably has less than ten days of use on it.

I'm not plugging St. Croix, but I believe on the Imperial and the model below that are made outside the states. I wouldn't buy those models anyways. Fortunately, I've never had to deal with customer service at any of the companies.

I've been getting intimate with my new S4 5wt. I got it a couple weeks ago and highly recommend the S4. Scott has got it down pat in my book. I have fished a S3 that in my opinion is hands down one of the best actions out there for about 10 years now. I have no complaints yet with the S4. I bought it specifically for a Montana trip in September so it will be in the rotaion and see lost of use sooon. I will post back once I have some more time with it. I apologize for side tracking your thread.

The s3 was a sweet rod. I never owned one but I did get a chance to fish one. The internal ferrules make for a great "feel" no matter what the action. However, internal ferrules in fast action rods mixed with heavy sink tips equals disaster. They tend to crack at the ferrules,so came the s4. I wish Scott would have spent some time to modify the internal ferrules rather than go with sleeve over. I think the g2 is the last of the true internal ferrule, graphite rods still being produced. One at a time, by hand I might add. Scott is a great small,American company.

    Rocklobster,

I have S4 in 5 weight. I love it. My Z Axis hasn't left the tube since I bought the S4 a few years ago. I like the way it looks and the way it fishes.

Guapo, My S3 is a 2wt, so I dont have to worry about the sink tip issue. The only thing I do is line up on occasion (3wt) depending on conditions, line brands and what not...
Alex, I dont have any complaints with mine yet. Like Guapo said small american company that doesnt get much notice but a great rod if you give them a chance.
