Fishing Report: D&R Canal

So since my local put and take stream is way warm (75F) and I needed a quick fishing break I decided to try out a bass popper I had bought awhile back. Went to the local lock basin near me, where there's lots of structure. So I put the popper on, and with in three strip noticed this guy following the lure. Stopped it, let it drift and then WHAM. Lots of fun. Within the hour I had 3 more fish and a couple of takes. Large mouth on the fly is awesome. They don't just slurp the lure, they engulf it and death roll like an alligator.

Only problem is, its strictly a roll cast type place and in the end, too aggressive of one and I caught a branch. Lunch was over, but fun.
