    Simms Guide Boot Vibram tread

    Hi Everyone,
I purchased these boots about 5 months ago and have put some time in them but have not beat them up and the vibram treads are already ripping off of both boots....not sure if this is a common occurrance with this model or I just got a bad pair...has anyone had similar issues with this model? Love the feel of the boots but pretty dissapointed in the treads already coming off

    thanks

I would call Simms and have them replaced. That definitely sounds like a defective pair. Good Luck

I've Had mine for almost a year, replaced the cleats 4 times and they're shot. Although I've never had a pair last longer.
Freind of mine had the same problem and they told him to find a cobbler.

Re: Simms Guide Boot Vibram tread

I've had my pair for two years, use em more in the winter than in warmer weather, and haven't had any problems. Sure, the soles have worn down a little, but as far as I'm concerned, I still feel stable walking in them, and to me, there's plenty of tread left for at least another season.

Send em back, there must be something wrong with the adhesive, I'd bet Simms would take care of you no prob.

Andy at Concord Outfitters took care of my boots. He sent them back to Simms and they are shipping new ones out Monday. They said it was just bad adhesive.

Very nice. I had the same thing happen to a pair of Simms felt soled boots. They sent me a new pair!

FYI I suspect a bunch of your soles will start wearing out soon...here is an outfit that can put new streamtreads on your wading boots...have no idea on the cost
