In need of nymph box with certain specs...

    Hello everyone,

After about 4 hours of research online last night, I found some really good boxes, and some good and not so good price ranges.

I decided on Cliff's Bugger Barn for my streamers. I have a basic magnetic ripple foam box for dries *will be updating next month with Scientific Anglers leaf box which will carry like 280 flies or so, plenty for me.

However, I could not decide on a nymph box and I guess I either have too narror search requirements.

I want a box that has small, flip up compartments on one side, and ripple foam on the other. I've found some with compartments and flat foam, but I'm not really a fan of that unless it has slits on the other side, capable of holding midges.

Who else to ask then the TPO forum. Anyone know of a box that meets this requirements. Size- small to medium. Midge threaders optional. But I want at least 6 compartments and ripple foam opposite.

    Any help, greatly appreciated.

Flambeau makes a good waterproof bow that's actually waterproof. I own two with the slit foam friction fit for nymph boxes. I am almost positive they have one that fits your discription with the compatments on one side and the friction fit foam on the other. While I do find them to be a little heavier weight box than most I've had mine fly off the back of a car at 30-40mph and open and did'nt loose a bug or have damage to the case. Not one of the"Elite" brands but these are a good product.

I prefer to keep the weight of stuff in my vest so light as possible. I mean you have to carry the junk all day long! So no heavy boxes with bomb proof constructions etc.

For my dry flies I have a 10 compartment box from DeWitt. These boxes are as light as a feather.
For my nymphs (I fish 99% of my time with nymphs) I have two small Myran boxes. These are also 10 compartments.

    Travel light!

Impossible with over 1000 tung bead bugs. I wish I could fit it all in a vest. ;D

Those flambeau boxes look really nice. I've seen first hand some of the ones that Brandon uses. C&F makes some great boxes, and I have one that is awesome for smaller flies, but for almost half the price, I might have to give the Flambeau VFF boxes a shot.
