Only one? Prince Nymph in size 14. It is often my goto search fly, and I use it year around. It is a good all-around attractor.
My 2 cents.
if you had to choose four flys (2 nymphs and 2 dry flys) to
take with you and they are the only ones you could use forever and ever and ever, what would they be and in what sizes?
my nymph would have to be a size 12 bead head prince nymph with rubber legs
and my other nymph is a sise 14 bead head pheasant tail nymph
My dry fly would have to be a sise 16 royal coachman.
my other dry fly would be a light cahil dry fly sise 14
ps please leave a pic if you can

Assuming the question is for the PA/NY area, I guess I'd go with the following in a variety of sizes:
1) My rusty parachute. (Doubles as dun and spinner. An Adams might do as well.)
2) Hans Weilenmann's CDC & Elk caddis. (Can also be fished sunken.)
3) BHPT nymph.
4) My Cressbug. (Doubles as a damn good caddis pupa.)
# 8 Golden Stonefly nymph
# 12 Prince
#16 Parachute Adams
#14 Light Cahill
These would be my top 4
#14 BH Prince
#18 Olive emerger
#12-14 Hares ear w/ orange bead or the like..
dry? white fly for September - I love September.
Parachute as hopper mentioned
x caddis
pheseant tail
olive caddis larva
For dries:
#18 foam and peacock herl caddis pupa (dry)
#14 Adams parachute
For nymphs:
#14 beadhead pheasant tail
#14 olive caddis larva
If I could have three each I would add a #14 elk hair caddis to the dries and a #14 beadhead hares ear for the nymphs

OK, we had this one a while a back.
In my case it would be.
Elk hair caddis.
Adams
GRHE
Partridge and HE soft hackle.
But l might sneak a few more in my pants !!
I would never have one of the nymphs with a bead head as l would be very restricted to what l could do with it, in other words if l needed weight l would add it with shot to suit the water l was fishing, as both of the two l chose are as good fished high in the surface as they are at the bed of the river.

Know you said nymph, but if I had only one fly, it would have to be a bugger or a clouser. That way you can catch just about anything that swims.
Others would be:
HE parachute
Ant
PT
You and those terrestrials!!
