Marcellus Shale Drilling Public Hearing in NYC

Around 350 people attended the Public Meeting at Styvesant High School in NYC. All want Gov. Paterson to re-direct the DEC for a ban on drilling in the Catskill and Delaware Watershed. They predict that the watershed will become contaminated and filtration plants will be needed. The standard treatment won't work on cleaning up this toxic water,as the US Dept. of Energy states that wastewater from Marcellus Shale Drilling is the most toxic.
A public official remarked that the Drilling would be the siren call for the almighty dollar.

I e mailed some higher level people and they were hopeful that all of the roadblocks would lead to the company revoking their permits. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Few Months back I was at a Central Park Summer Stage event and I met A Girl Passing out Fliers About the drilling so there must be alot of people out side the industry that really think its going to mess with the ecosystem.. Anyways I got to talkign to her(gOT HER A DRINK) and she was suprised I knew so much about it so I told her I was prue breed through and through, ( I marched in 3 roscoe day parades) I actaully have pictures to prove it, I should scan and post them for a laugh...That Reigen has more issues, I swear there not going to be happy till every creature is dead in that system.. We got yo-yo flows, now they want to ruin the quality of the sheds waters...I DIDNT KNOW SHALE WAS IMPORTANT...

Pennsylvania will have great advantage from the marcellus shale if it is securely and effectively formulated. Their will be an increase in occupation for the people in that area.

I was just up in Northern Pa. I saw a whole lot of out of state tags. On a whole lot of the vehicles. It's really a shame for the locals with the trucks going by 24/7. In what was a quiet country setting. We did talk to one worker, he was from Texas.

You have to be way off to think that the drilling is good. Corbett is a corrupt piece of crap. The PA DEP kisses his butt and gives him everything he wants. He is whoring out the whole state. The ramifications from the shale drilling will be far worse than the coal. Wait till you see everyone getting cancer and dying. The best part is that my favorite person Dick Cheney is even in on it. Birds of the same feather flock together.

A lot of the trucks I saw had Halliburton printed in large letters on the side of them. If you look up Halliburton you will see the words, Scandal, Bribery, Exposed, Arrests, Investigation, Guilty, and Cheney which equals money.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize it poses an environmental risk. Look at the history... The water draw alone poses a significant threat.

They have really amped up the propaganda on TV lately. I think these television commercial are misleading at best and downright dishonest at worst.
