Well this river was alive today. I caught many browns and salmon par today. I am not sure where all these fish have been hideing, mind you i fish this river just about every sat and sunday, It is good to know there are going to be alot of hold overs. The fish where riseing everywhere seems they where eating some kind of huge yellow flying bug thingy. They would fly down to the water and what i assume lay eggs and fly away, Thats if a trout didnt see them first. Anyone know what kind of bug it might be? The flys of choice that seemed to knock them dead was the good old size 10 yellow hornburg with a size 18 cadis dropper. so all an all a great day. The leaves changeing give this river a very tranquil effect on the soul ahhhhhhhh

The fly is most likely a potomanthus by the yellow color. How big were they? As I posted before, I have seen this same behavior on the Housatonic as well. Don't the fish look so happy when they do that. It's like they know it's pretty hard to get them when they feed like that!

Hey Aaron
well the killer bugs where about 1 and 2 inches long pretty good sized wing span. I didn notice when they are flying, it looks as though they have 4 wings could be just they way they fly that makes them look like that. I will try to catch one and take a picture. It looks as though they could put up a bit of a fight we shall see lol.
