Aaron, question about your dvd shipping availabilty

Hey, my brake lines are shot on my truck and I was going to pick the copy up from Shannon's today, but won't be able to. I have put off purchasing it long enough, and if I can't fix it tomorrow, then I want to order it and have it shipped.

What is your TPO or personal stock on the dvd, and what express shipping options are available?

Did you send the coiled sighters in a different package than the dvd? I received the dvd at my lunch break, *haven't opened it and 730 cannot come SOONER. i may just close early to start watching this. Guessing you shipped the dvd from your house, and had tpo send the coily's out, makes sense.

I figured as such, and I appreciate it Aaron. Let me first say about the dvd, coming into it, aside from knowing some patterns, and aside from knowing what some sighters were, I knew nothing about the techniques or execution of European nymphing techniques.

The dvd has crystal clear video and audio, something which you almost never find on instructional dvds. Most of the time it looks like it was shot in a 1988 high school shop class with tin cans and a string versus a decent mic. Very impressed with that aspect alone. The second immediate thing I noticed was that it was easily broken down. This was a great idea for those who are a novice, as it lets us replay certain sections, without having to cipher through parts of which we already know, or that which is still over our heads.

You didn't present this as 1, xminute dvd, where you would have to fast forward or rewind, this saves me many headaches. The Umpqua sighter that you used for demonstrations illustrated your finer details perfectly, and even though you said its not what you actually use, it is better than not having your point visible. Again, saving headaches from trying to see what the hell the person is talking about.


The two biggest things that make this better than any instructional dvd I have seen are that you take the time to repeat extremely important aspects that make the system work, taking time to break down the finer parts where some people may have been confused without blowing over it like everyone already understands what you are talking about. This makes our learning curve that much easier. We dont have to figure out what exactly you were talking about in regards to rod position , or the angle of slack when leading the flies. The last thing that makes this great, is that it isn't just you fishing. It is you presenting your take on the euro techniques and approaches, while doing it on the stream. The fact that you caught fish, is an added bonus. It wasn't a highlight reel.


Very well done sir. From knowing basically nothing about the nuances between the euro schools of thought on nymphing, to the dvd to now, I can say I actually have an understanding of what needs to be done. I'm certainly not a master, it will take countless hours of practicing this streamside, but I know the major principles I need to focus on now. And you presented it in a relaxed, easy to understand layout. For what content is in the dvd, the price tag was cheap. Good job Aaron
