Farmington Monday

We are going up to the river Monday for an afternoon of fishing. We know a few spots like Ovation and the Bone Yard. Is there a spot you recommend to a couple of guys that work too much and fish too little. Any particular pattern and size you can recommend. Thanks, George

I am not lying when I say this but every spot is packed with trout. The river is fishing about as well as anyplace that I have been. The entire TMA is great right now! What I would do to try to avoid people is fish the riffled water between all of the popular pools. For example above church pool going toward Halfords. Also, between Ovation and the 219 bridge can be great.

For flies be sure to have caddis larvae both green and tan. Have them in sizes 14-18. Also, smaller mayfly nymphs would be a good bet.
