Rudeness on the Farmington

I finally talked my good friend Aaron into coming to Connecticut to fish with me. We had a fantastic morning catching lots of fish and then we happened to apparently get too close to a certain guide and her client. It was near the camp ground and it kind of put a damper on the day for us. No one should get into someone else on the river like that. We were only there for fun and it got snatched away.

The best was they couldn't buy a fish during a great caddis hatch. I didn't yell back, it took a ton of restraint as I'm not stooping to that level, but I did leave her a love note.

I have never had an issue with any guides on the farmington althouh I have had some ignorant people walk in and begin casting to the same fish I was working. This however seems to be quite rare and 99% of my outings result in meeting nice people and I have no issues with rude anglers (although ther are certainly alot of pigs leaving garbage ( I carry out a bag every time I fish)
All in all for the amount of pressure I think most people there are great

I was working a deep run Sunday and a guy came barging out of the woods on the opposite bank and started casting. If I had thrown when we would have caught each other.

I moved downstream, and the rude guy compounded his sins by catching a couple of fish in short order. Must have been that green bobber.

Another guy moved in and they started whipping in tandem. I beat it and caught a nice rainbow elsewhere.

This was pretty bad behavior, but it was also unusual. I have found the Farmington anglers to be almost universally considerate.

I think the real question is was she hot? Because no woman has any right to be crazy and ugly. I've only heard of one Amy Vokey. Just saying.

I agree it's generally nice there. This person was just yelling at people to yell.

I've had tons of people creep up on me during guide trips at the Farmington and they are usually such nice people that. You can't even get mad at them. It's a very unique thing there. There are so m y people but due to people generally being happy in nature, it does not feel as crowded as it is.

She totally missed a golden opportunity.......My Dad and I had the opportunity to fish next to Aaron later that evening. There was plenty of room for all of us in a nice little run and the fish were cooperating. The display that took place right before dark was far more entertaining than any of the fish I caught. Aaron found quite a nasty snag that I donated 2 rigs to earlier....only he wasn't going to make any donations. He proceeded to wrestle with quite a substantial submerged tree, pulled out half a dozen flies and lures, fell in at least once.....all while holding his fly rod in his mouth (looked like a big dog retrieving a stick). This post is not even doing justice to how funny it was to watch. My only disappointment was he didn't join us for a beer after. Anyhow, I enjoyed our conversation/entertainment and hopefully sent some CT good-will in his direction.
