    Great day on the water!

Caught a slew of stockers, and got to practice my eu nymphing and work on my strike detection! Here is some fish porn for you guys! I think between two good friends and I we caught about 50 fish!

I hope nobody hates on the stockers, I'm just using them to get practice in and besides it's a whopping five minute drive from the house!

C&R stockies hopefully grow up to be "Natified". Soon enough maybe a flyfisher will make them smarter for it from the meat hunters. The second and last fish look like albinos?

Yes I know it's a delayed harvest section of my local stream lots of fish stocked and they seem to get smart fairly quick! I personally don't like to eat fish I catch, I'd rather go to the market on the way home from a fishing trip... Lol
The 2 fish you are referring to are palominos ( I think that is spelled right) aka golden trout! Either way the fish are super healthy and make for some close to home practice!

Stockies that hang on help establish a resident population. Without stocking at some point we would be catching only beautiful brookies.....and chubs!!!!!

I agree. You got to remember brown trout came from Europe and Rainbows came from out west. At some point those fish were stocked in the East. What angers me is when people say a stream has wild browns so they shouldn't stock. Well how did those browns get there ? From stocking at some point.

Yeah it also bugs me when people say "I don't fish for stockers"! Well when those fish hold over for a winter or two they get pretty smart, you have to when you have been fed and caught by a hundred fisherman... Lol
They probably have a better idea what what a fly looks like than some stream bred fish, because those streambred fish are born to natural food and the stockers need to learn!
