Anyone touced a Sage TCX Yet?

Just curious if anyone has had their hands on the Sage TCX. I have heard good things about them. I hear they are very simliar to an XP but has alot more sensity. Thanks

I like Sage rods and have a closet full of them.

The TCR and TCX are a specialized hybrid of rods.

I played with the 590-4 TCX a little and then put the 5wt long belly line on a 790-4 Z-Axis, they are similar in casting with the Z-Axis being lighter in the hand (swing weight) and more comfortable to cast. The TCX has a stiffer tip than the Z-Axis or XP rods.

Many eastern FF like the 490-4 TCX and TCR in windy conditions and longer casting opportunities.

My favorite and only rod of this category is the 10150-4 TCR, if the line in under your feet on the presention cast,,,,, it upend your butt.

Isn't that a song...... "I touched a TCX and I liked it....", oh no, my bad it's "I touched a girl".

Anyways.... I cast the 9' #5 TCX for the first time recently and I really liked it. I wasn't a TCR fan before, even though the #5 could dump a whole fly line & then some in the right hands. But the TCX, in my opinion, is a much more user-friendly rod, easier to cast, and it seems not quite as stiff as the TCR. It can still launch a whole fly line & beyond though. I would consider it to be a great dry fly rod for those who routinely make long casts on big trout rivers where wind is common (like the Big Delaware or out West). I wouldn't recommend it for those who cannot already cast far though. The 9' #8 TCX is pretty sweet too, it would make an excellent lighter Salt Water rod, perfect for fishing Bonefish.
