What will you do with the squirrel meat you get the pelts off of? Maybe you should give eating them another shot so as not to waste them.

Send a few of them south. We need some fresh ideas around here. I feel like those at Fish and Wildlife and such are too entrenched and set in their ways.
Thanks for that info. Sounds like a good way to do Montana relatively inexpensively. What sort of camping are you doing? Tent, cabin, camper? Man, you have a good woman there! I'm pretty lucky too,...
I messed around with an Orvis Helios 7 wght switch at the Salmon river last winter, and now I am currently saving money for one. It was AWESOME to cast and land fish with. It was actually far easier...
Excellent job by CT not only in the management practice but in the spreading of information as well. We need more transparency in NJ.
Wow! What a great experience you must be having. Trying not to get jealous over here! Who shuttles you when you float?
Heads up, y'all!
Sorry for the short notice but the I just found out myself. The much heralded fly fishing film tour is coming to the Newton Theatre tonight!

I'm with you on that triploid business. Still, a beast. That brown was something. I wonder how old it was. I wonder, as a dedicated C&R fisherman, what I would have done if I caught it. Principles...
Looks like a caddis to me. Were the trout eating them? was there surface action? Or were they just crawling around?
Wow! It must have been something to catch those fish! But I wouldn't trade my fishing experiences for any other. There is just something about fooling a trout...
New Jersey represent! I love that there are people who don't take our little streams for granted. Nicely done Lopat.
Why #5 in the Hardy as apposed to #3? I assume the #3 might be more sensitive. No?
This is a little tough to admit...but I think I'm actually in love with trout. ;D
Whoa...we are going to need a lot of beer.
I hit the KLG this afternoon for a couple of hours figuring the rainy weather might make for some good fishing. First off, I slipped about five steps into the river and knocked my knee up pretty...
I think the Helios is actually over $700. They are pretty awesome to cast though. I tried a 7 wght switch rod on the Salmon last winter. It was ridiculous. What a rod. :o If they come out with a...
I just use a commercial head cement thinner. I suppose a commercial thinner in bulk would be less expensive, but I worry about leaving an odor on the flies.
Nice report though. It communicates how tough it is out there. Those spring creeks treated me in a similar unfriendly fashion. :P
I have a Ross Rythm that is excellent. It is a discontinued reel that has the same drag system as the Evo. Great reel. The styling is different than the Evo and it is slightly heavier, but because...
They look big alright. I just don't think I could dig a fish that looks like that. ;D
Wasn't quite ready for a Salmon River post yet, but now that it's there....it's on! Nice photos, I'm jonesing already.
Wow! Is that a wild fish? a monster.
Amen to that. I popped two or three nice fish off before I realized what the beef was.
The movie is called Hustle and Fish?
Go Giants!
But I have to confess, I'm dreading football season. Being a bartender and having to work football sundays is for the birds. The crowd is a bunch of drunk dudes who forget all manners and...
