Farmington Saturday afternoon
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Nice job Bob! Need to get up there and experience the farm
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Nice pictures Bob. How were the water levels? Thinking of hitting the Farm one day this week.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
+/- 250 cfs = good flow. The only problem was that before I went away there were tubers in the quantities that you would expect to see on the Esopus.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Very nice!
I can't wait to fish the Farmington... in only 3 weeks! :)
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Fished it last night......Rafts everywhere.....I love the occasional eye candy but after the first dozen it became a little tiresome. I did land one rainbow from under one of the tubes! :)
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
I'm in the market for a camera and curious as to what you took those pictures with, they're very nice.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Magnet, can you tell me more about how you caught those nice fishes? dry? nymph?
which fly?
I've got to prepare my self for the Farmington, so thanks in advance.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Hi Zack!
The camera is a Cannon. I don't know the model number but Aaron has it too. It goes for around $200.00. Not waterproof but remarkably it has gotten wet several times and still works. If you remember Alains beautiful pictures, he had the same one. If Aaron reads this he will post the model number for you.
Como Savior Clema!
I have been nymph fishing. Euro long line set up with weighted nymphs. The dry fly fishing is good too. A small fly hatch called Needhami is going now. Olives very small as well. If you Google UpCountrysportfishing. Wait! Go back to TPO home page and click the link to UpCountry on the left hand side. The Link is the one with the poor picture. You will see a link for river reports once there and it will be specific about what you will need. If you really want to get em good you know who you gotta call.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
como savior??? :D
comment ça va? you meant???
thanks a lot for your advices!
I can't wait to fish the Farmington!
I hope trouts will be rising.. I dream about circles everywhere on the surface.
here we've got a bad period of big heat. Water is missing in the rivers. Fishes are dying everywhere... another bad year !!
:(
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Clema,
It's not that much better here! Low water and high tepms have really hurt over the past month or so. You should be ok at the Farmington though. When will you be here?
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
we're dancing the dance for the rain here now!
I'll be there 3 days from the 7th of august.
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Hi Magnet
I went to visit the site you advice.
I'm surprised. They advice hooks in 22-24... waow. I read a lot of things these weeks preparing my trip. The adviced flies were quite big...
So I'm wondering if there is a difference in the US and european hook sizes.
Do you know if the sizes are the same... if not, fishing in h24, very very small. (like here at this time but...)
Re: Farmington Saturday afternoon
Hi
I tied a few pattern thinking to what I read about flies for CT...
a few tries, I like generalist flies.

Of course I've got my usual flies which I hope they can work...
What do you think?
