Takin' Care of Business...

Tom and I left early for one of the spots. We arrived and it was colder than hell! We put our waders on and we had to get back in the car to warm up! It took forever to get there. We didn't get many fish today. We did get into double digits, but we nailed a monster!
I saw a slot, and said to myself, "there is a big one right there." After a few drifts, the indicator went down so hard that it made a thumping noise! This fish really wanted Davy's Sow Bug! It was one of the most viscious takes that I have ever had indicator nymphing!
A battle ensued that lasted about 5 minutes. When I scooped him up I was in amazement at the weight of the fish. I looked at the tail and could not believe that this huge fish was in my net. We readied the camera, I lifted him up quickly, took a photo, got him back in the water and got him ready for realease. He swam away a little aggravated of course, but he'll live! He just got served some DW Sow Bug, and I know that he didn't like it one bit!

Amazing and beautiful. It was cold today. I got skunked on the Saucon Creek.
Congrats of the fish. What a way to start 2010.

Amazing is right. Congrats on the monster.
I need some DW Sow bugs! You'll have to rename that fly the DW-27 :)

Re: Takin' Care of Business...
if you think you were cold, imagine how that trout felt. Nice fish man.
Re: Takin' Care of Business...
The next time I get one like that, I am going to take it to your stream so it can eat whatever is left from the sewage spill:)
Re: Takin' Care of Business...
Nice fish Aaron! Were you in central PA?
Re: Takin' Care of Business...
I didn't know they had such monsters in the Bushkill. I want to go there.
