One of last Sunday's browns:

Hopefully more tommorrow. I want to get one more good day in before they stock it on the 15th with rainbows. I'll be on the creek behind the Easton Service Center around 10 AM if anyone wants to join.
Question---Won't these stock fish disrupt the brown trout spawn?
It's not a great picture, but it's a pretty nice brook trout...

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Nice pix all you guys. You do a really nice job with your camera Dejon, thanks for sharing those with us.

Apparently the shuuter cover didn't open on this pic. Unfortunitly I dropped the camera into the creek trying to fix it. Anyway,,,Bushkill Brown:

Here's a question concerning holdover trout.
Do the colors eventually get as defined as a stream bred trout, if the trout is left in a stream for a long time?
I'm no expert kilroy but I believe that once the trout begin eating natural food, the keritin in the insects brings out the color in the fish. Can anyone concur with this?
Here is my meager offering... hopefully. there is more to come this weekend!

Spectacular fish Aaron and NA!
A few Housatonic River browns from this past weekend. The BWO hatch was in full swing and the fish were hungry! Of course the big one got away (a story I can't bear to tell) but I did manage to get photos of a few that made it in the net.

This one took a size 22 BWO emerger - if you look close you can see it in the corner of his mouth

A few also fell for a Prince nymph

Here are some pics from the Little Juniata @ Spruce Creek, PA on Wed: Oct-21-2009, just before all the rain. Enjoy!!!

Nice fish guys!
Aaron, that hook jaw beastie looks like he means business.
i know its not a trout and its not even my fish but my buddy caught this giant albie a couple weeks ago. by far fastest longest running fish i have ever witnessed
http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/p...a/P9060151.jpg
and they are great on the grill as well ::)
lopat, false albicore are actualy worthless. i have heard people actualy say inedible
John,
Those are some great trout for that stream! It was a little higher a week ago ;)
Craig,
That is a major league albie!
The only reason people don't eat the False Albies is because of the color of the meat, has nothing to do with taste..
Here are 2 of the three browns I got on this Bushkill this afternoon. The third was a little reluctant to have his picture taken. I also got 2 rather unspectacular fall stockies, I didn't waste camera space on them.

BTW Chris, I got all the fish today on your caddis pupae pattern tied in DW SLF Lt Damselfly with a Copper Tungsten Bead and copper rib, size 12.
Awesome! ;D
That fly certainly does work.
I should have caught more. I missed several strikes and lost 2 shortly after hooking them. I blame it on rust, I haven't been on the water for about 2 weeks.
I haven't fished for over a week. Hope to shake off the rust on the SR this weekend.
The trout are already crapping their pants ;D
We need to do a Saucon trip again soon.
Maybe you can show me the Bushkill. I'll let you know.
Sounds great to me. The Bushkill browns are really getting tired of me catching them, they need a change of pace.
Here's a little collection. Most from the Swift River in MA.

Enjoy.
All four species! Nice...
Where did you get the tiger?
The tiger came out of the Swift in Belchertown, MA C&R area below Quabbin. It was a surprise.
Had a rather unsuccesful day on the Bushkill today. I fished for about four hours only bringing one trout to hand.

One bright spot today was that the large golden rainbow I posted last month is still hanging out. Its good to know he has still managed to stay out of someone's broiler. I was going to try and catch him but seeing how I caught him twice already I chose to try and sneak up on him a get a picture instead. Here it is.
[smg id=482]
I've got to get a small stream camera. I don't have any photos from this weekend but I managed 3 browns and 26 rainbows. The rainbows all hit a beadhead prince dropper off of a royal wulff. The browns hit the wulff!
What cameras do you guys recommend for streamside use?
