Spinney Reservoir 4/13/2007
we drove from breckenridge colorado with out new tpo member trout intimidator. he promised us action along the shoreline of the lake and we were not disappointed. while the fishing was not fast and furious it was consistant. the only thing that was killing us was the weather. you name it, snow, wind, sun and freezing air temps. we caught plenty of trout on egg patterns suspended under a strike indicator. no huge trout landed today but they were all beautiful trout. it was an awesome new experience fishing in a lake.

Fishing an egg pattern depends hugely on the timing. The fish should be spawning when using these egg patterns. It was extremely easy to intimidate several fat spawners to slurp our egg patterns today by using the troutoholics egg pattern.. It shore is a nice'n. Find their spawning beds, look for gravel beds and deep, quick elevation drops into deeper water. Try not to fish in a blizzard at it tends to freeze your fingers and tootsies. Egg patterns take big spawners.. It's perfect for just after ice-off. Strike indicator 10 to 12 feet above a single or double egg. We did well with an egg following a scud as well.
