Re: May 2008 FOTM - March Brown Nymph
Alain,
The instructions are excellent. I see what you mean with the camera. I would guess that its possible that the web cam is unable to focus in on things that small. That is the fly that i iget them on. the only difference is that I use black thin skin. If you would like, the next time we meet up I can bring my video camera and film you tying the fly?

We will try to improve the video quality, but for now, you should be able to get a good idea of the steps involved. By the way, this fly produced several fresh stockies from the Hous today.
Re: May 2008 FOTM - March Brown Nymph
I just thought of a few things I forgot to say.
The Thin Skin has a different sheen on either side, dull and shiny. If you are planning to put epoxy or knot sense over any wingcase, it is better to leave the dull side out (glue sticks better). For this fly, I left the shiny side out, this is the side of the material that is stuck to the white backing paper.
The width of the Thin Skin trip for the wing case should be about two-thirds the width of the hook gap. Much wider than this, and the wing case will pinch the legs down when you bring it forward.
The fat head on this not only covers up the small thin skin tab, but also better imitates the fat flat head of the natural.
