I hope its OK to do this but I just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Upcountry fly shop on the Farmington. I was in there the other day and was looking for information to tie a certain fly in a way which was specific to the Farmington. My thanks go out to Shawn who as busy as they were still took the time to share a little of his expertise with me. Thank you Upcountry!

I was also there the other day and met Grady who was very informative and personable, and always seems to be smiling. Good guy to do business with.

Grady, Shawn and Bruce are always extremely pleseant when I have been in that store. There is never any friction. They are just happy to be there. That's important in a store like that. Grady's selection of fly fishing gear and tying materials is the best in Connecticut. He has pretty much anything you need.

Re: UpCountry Fly Shop
If you watch the UpCountry web site you can come across some good deals. I bought an brand new Ross Evo-3 for $185 there recently. I couldn't believe it. Another time a couple of years ago I stopped in there and asked Grady, "If you ever come across a Sage SLT 389-4, could you let me know?" Would you believe less than a week later he called me and said," you aren't going to believe this but I located a brand new one with the warranty card. You can have it for.$300." An hour later I couldn't believe it when I walked out of his store with arguably "the best dry fly rod ever made, in my hands!"

Re: Upcountry Fly Shop
One last thing, if you want to get the "old school" perspective get in there on Mondays to see Don. When I was in there this week I asked Don if he had any Mucillin. He replied,"You got two choices, we got the real stuff and we got the fake stuff." I then looked and saw the word silicone on the tin he described as the "fake stuff" so I said,"I'll take the fake stuff!"
