Re: The insanity that is...
From what I can tell, many of the PA streams are like that a lot. Is the fishing pressure lighter in the later winter? Like Feb or March? (in either PA or NY)
Re: The insanity that is...
Wow! There was even a guy on the bridge spotting fish to be snagged! Those spots in the pictures aren't even the popular spots either. I would hate to see Schoolhouse Pool or the Wire Hole!!!

I was also there last weekend. And it was the most crowded I have seen it in a long time at this time of year. I fished mid river Friday & Saturday. I found a really good hole had it all to myself and did pretty good average 10-14 fish per outing. I also fished the upper & lower FZ and did really good. lots & lots of fish in the river this year.
Re: The insanity that is...
I wonder if unemployment has anything to do with the larger crowds? Even during the week, that river has seen some serious traffic this year. Not working? May as well go fishing...
Re: The insanity that is...
I think that because of all the worm weather we are having the fact that the river is only at 335cfm and has been for quite some time now and the fact that there seem to be a ton of fish in the river this year is the biggest reason. Last Friday after noon I left the spot I was fishing and decided to go down to fish the staircase usually there's not many guys down there this time of year. I couldn’t even get in to a place to fish. I did see a lot of guys hooked up though.
Re: The insanity that is...
low flow certainly plays a part...but there have been low flows before and years with solid fish....probably a lot of factors involved. Hopefully the local area up there is reaping some benefit from having a ton of traffic on the river.
