I think we should establish a tpo executive committee to determine the direction of the site and how to fund it. Look for volunteers first and also select outstanding member contributors to the content of the site for the committee . Set a date in the winter when the fishing is slower to meet. prepare for the meeting by circulating a draft agenda. Give the committee input on designing the agenda and assignments for specific agenda items. I have two ideas on funding. One put together a panel of five or six of the most talented members of the site on a particular subject. Pick a date time and place. Charge 100 bucks to attend the panel discussion . Have each person on the panel do a short presentation and give time for questions from the audience. We could also include food . Two - there should be more incentive to be a rockstar. For example- I think it is great that Aaron and others answer questions on the main site. Maybe that should be a rockstar only benefit . There could be a once a week live chat where members could interact with the most skilled members of the site- available to tpo rockstars only
I always thought an IRC channel would be a great idea. Communication in real time can't be beat.
Juice,
I am willing to help out. I agree with WWelz that it would be useful to put a committee together and hammer out a business model / road map for the site/community.
Everything will revolve around the goals of the site/community, which I'm sure you and Aaron have already thought of. Once the goals for the site/community are set we can review available business models that would support the goals.
For the first meeting it would be great if we could get together in person and should pick a location that is central those attending. Alternatively or in addition we could setup a Skype conference call for those who can not attend in person.
I'll volunteer to take the lead in organizing this committee and setting up the initial meeting if you agree. I will email you my contact info as well.

Justin:
Maybe start with a "committee members only" part of the forum. If too many people voice their opinions in the open forum, you may not accomplish anything.
