this may be over the top but here goes....I saw some flies in the Aaron and Chris pics but what type of flies work well. It looked like white eggs or just something fluffy and white...I'll assume fished weighted and cast out ahead of a cruiser? Had a few shots at them but spooked em with 2x tippet and a crappy cast.

Are 12 foot leaders really required?

Used pink eggs on a 9tf 5x leader. Yeah I would say you have about two casts to present your fly until they spook. sneaking up on my knees did work though!Next time Id go with white eggs ..Size 12, keep the weight to a min too, it doesnt take much to get them to sink
