Re: Sightfishing for Carp in CT: Looking for quality spots
Passaic River in NJ tons of carp. I have seen spots where there are hundreds. You just have to get past all the submerged garbage. There is also a ton of pike as well as large and smallmouth bass in there as well. I got a 44" pike there on a fly! Never tried for the carp... I used to hammer them when I was a kid on mulberries!

Aaron,
I have heard of Mulberry Flies! Flip Pallot did a special on Walker's Cay Chronicles where he was carp fishing in a pond. Mulberry bushes lined the banks and would drop in the pond. The carp would sit and swim around on the banks waiting for these berries to drop. They hooked up with some nice fish and with an 8wt rod, it's got to be a blast! I gotta try it this year!

Those flies look very "Carpy". Guess the owner of them likes bead-bodied San Juan Worms in a wine color. I've noticed many Carp flies look similar in construction to Bonefish ones. They often call Carp the "Poor man's Bonefish".
