Agreed stimulators and PMXs are great flies for low water there. Fish there after a heavy fain. You won't believe how many fish are in there. It will surprise you. I know I'm amazed. A good amount will be over 8 inches too.

I'll have to try that sometime I have fished in the rain there and the overcast sky and rain seemed to make the fish less skittish! Ever try any wet flys or soft hackles? I know many times if the fly goes under they will still grab it was just wondering if anyone had any luck with that.

Looks like some great water holding a variety of trout.
Not only is the water really nice but you'll see all kinds of wildlife, I saw a huge Black bear and even a Bobcat cross the stream when I was fishing it. Kind of hard not to have a good day up there between the trout and the scenery.

Wow, excellent pictures and stories. Very Cool. I think I am heading back to either VCB or FB on Saturday. It has been way too long. Any suggestions for fly selection?
I would bring stonefly patterns, caddies, and attractor patterns like humpy's, stimulators, and Wullfs. I have also used a lot of Adams with good results but they seem to prefer the bushy high floating flies better, or maybe's it's because I see them better. Good luck and have fun!

Welp, I got skunked, lol. Mainly because I decided to fish deep upstream of 206 where the ol stocking trucks dont visit. After spending a few hours up there and only seeing (spooking) one fish and picking through a bunch of chub I went to one of the stocking areas...You could see the trout everywhere there. I only fished it for maybe 30 minutes. Got a few refusals and one bite but ultimately no catch. They were hitting dries off the surface pretty aggressively.Quote:
