If you are going to buy a 10 ft 4wt ZAxis...then dont buy a 3100 Shadow...they have very similar actions except that the Echo 3100 has a slower tip section...and it is considerably lighter...taking nothing away from the Z...to be honest the Z-Axis 10 ft 4wt is a better all around casting rod than the Shadow is...but I like the Shadow better for nymphing and fighting fish.
Once again if you are going to buy the Z, go ahead and purchase the 3106. it weighs about the same as the Z 10ft 4wt and gives you an extra 1/2 foot more reach...
or you could just buy BOTH the 3100 AND the 3106 for less than the price of one Z-Axis...and still have some money left over to have a few beers with you friends! :)
