I was just making sure you weren't one of "those guys". The people who tell you using bait for any species is either a sin or it is cheating.
While I don't fish with bait for trout or muskies ever, I do alot of walleye fishing. Believe me, the bait will be flying this summer when I am after eyes. Unless someone finds a way for me to catch walleyes on a fly on Lake Erie, I will be dunking crawlers...lol.

No Aaron's just busting balls! And flinging herring should be a sport of its own. Not only that, but if you ask Justin, I am the master at catching herring.

I once spent the afternoon hammering SMB at that same location, I was all by my lonesome. But not sure what the zoo would be like for the shad season.
I might be game. What weekend were you guys thinking.

Essox-
Aaron fishes bait all the time for Steelhead- skein fished under a float on the centerpin. Believe me, he has no issues with anyone fishing bait!
That's how last year went. I don't know, what do you guys think?

It's usually lousy with fishermen during the shad run but there are plenty of fish there. In fact, Lambertville and New Hope, PA(across the river) have a big Shadfest every year. I've turned out for beer and it's pretty fun.

The Shadfest is fun. Riverhorse is some tasty beer. Maybe I will do some advance scouting this year to see if its worth it, and if it is we can set up something next year.
