A sketch isn't nescesary I understand and it makes perfect sense. I guess if I had chosen flyfishing instead of being a chef as a carreer I would have had to figure this stuff out a long time ago. I guess its better late than never. If any one ever has any cooking questions give me a shout just just kidding... but seriously! Thanks for the advice!

Naturally, my comments pertain to a nymph rig hanging vertically below an indicator. If you use weights to slow your drift and they drag the bottom or on rocks, other fly orientations will occur. In that case, the dropper fly may ride closer to the horizontal.

Now I am a little confused... which fly orientation is being affected by where you tie the dropper is it the dropper fly or the lead fly?
