Housatonic, 9/28-29 Midnight Shift
Brookie and I ventured to the Housy last evening. We actually fished as dusk was approaching, took a break, then headed back into the wee hours of the morning. In the early evening when the sun on its way out, we got a few browns both on top and nymphing. Lots of surface activity in XXXXXXX Hole. ;) At one point, there were so many rises that you couldn't keep track of them. At one point, there was an immediate hatch that burst right in front of my eyes. . .small cream/white colored that were no bigger then a size 22 or 24.
After a dinner break, we headed back. The moon was out and shining bright, but we pursued with the usual TPO attitude. We fished a lot of water; water that was under canopy and water that had the shine of the moon glimmer upon it. I got 5 browns, the largest being a hair or two over a foot, the others being around 10' or so. Nothing huge, but tons of fun. Brookie also got a few browns, and a huge Bass (that took him for a ride around the pool). Check out the pictures
That feeling of the line being ripped upon the swing is an awesome sensation! I had some really productive flies to use (Tony) ;), so I must give credit where credit is due. . .not to mention a certain deadly "midnight leader" from the Predator himself ;).
Great time!
Pictures to follow shortly:
