Fished with Alex and Tony. The Housy H2O temp was 59 in the AM. Perfect trout temperatures. The fish were extremely active in all of the spots fished. Most of the fish were caught on Tony's ISO nymph... it's a "trout magnet"! We caught over 50 in two hours...Unreal!
The largest fish was close to 22 inches and fat.... not as big as Blackghosts monster >:( There were also fish rising for the mix of olives, ISO's and sulphers
Wow, that's great to hear! BLACKGHOST and I almost fished there too, but opted for one more go on the Farmington for the Trico hatch. The hatch came off later than Friday, as the weather was cool and clear. We both caught some nice fish, and Mike hooked a monster. When we stopped fishing, we spent a while scouting with polarized glasses. We were both astounded at what our scouting revealed; can't wait for some rain...
Nice rainbow! The pool "looks" higher than I would expect for only 115 cfs.

Nice fish. If the bows faired that well, the browns must be in great shape after these low summer flows.
Good news.
"Fished with Alex" - That's funny. Of course you fished with Alex. You went to his Labor day hole. ;D

Oh yeah... you are right I didn't think of it that way. It is his favorite Labor Day spot. I am just happy that mother nature gave us favorable weather to lower the H2O temps so that we could enjoy the trout.
BTW the browns that we caught looked awesome and in really good shape. I fished other spots this morning before and during guide trip and we caught numerous other good looking and healthy brown trout. There are lots of fish all over the river. I am looking forwards to the possibility of floating the river with higher flows. This fall will be a good one no matter what but I would like to see higher flows.
I am surprised that you didn't go harder on me with that rainbow :D
