I recently had a problem with the Vanquish reel I purchased. I panicked - sent an email to Lamson. Lamson got back to me the next day . The head of their service department called me and coached me through the problem over the phone. Great service. The service guy told me the this happens when the retail store uses a reel to show customers how to change from left to right hand retrieve. The reel I bought was a demo . In the process they did not tighten the threaded gear on the end of the drag properly. The reel came apart on the stream. I called Cabelas fly department they admitted to the error and life goes on. Kudos to Lamson for good service.

That's funny I had the same problem with the one I bought from bass pro except my buddy that worked there took care of it!
