Where do you guys buy good fly tying materials?
anything from thread, wire types , hooks, dubbing , hackles and all etc.
Is there any good one stop shop, or do you pick and choose between suppliers for different materials?
Any help is greatly appreciated
It's a tricky thing trying to find one place that has ALL the materials I'm looking for. So yeah you'll have to find a few places to shop to pick out certain stuff. Usually I shop online for supplies, and I'd say my go-to spot is feather-craft.com. However, lately I've just been using the online stores from the fly shops in Colorado... Get to support local business, and couple of them do free shipping on orders over $50, and since I live in CO its basically free overnight delivery via UPS ground.
For the most part, I feel there is a big difference between a fly shop and a fly shop for fly tyers. If you can find one of the latter close by then you're golden.

I agree. Grady at UpCountry has about as good a fly shop as you will find anywhere in the country.
UpCountry also has excellent deals on good quality used rods and reels. Grady takes alot of used rods in on trade for new ones. So he always has a good supply of them. I have bought rods that are like brand new from him for really great prices.
Like Troutastic says, it is better and safer to stay in your own area when buying even on line in my opinion. I once bought a DVD from a place in Colorodo which I had some intermitent trouble with the audio and video sync. I called them and all they said was ," you are the only one to complain about it. I hung up thinking, OK, Im not really having trouble viewing this thing because noone else has complained. So I havent bought anything from them since. My point is if you buy from your area and something isnt right you can always go in there and say , hey, this isnt any good. I need another one.
